They are mainly interested in just lifting weights and not pausing at the top and lowering the weight slowly. By training this way people are only getting one third of the fat blasting benefits from exercise.

Strength is very important for a number reasons. Strength leads to muscle growth which leads to a faster resting metabolism which leads to faster fat loss because it takes more energy for your body to keep the muscle and muscle is metabolically active.

So the best way to train is by taking 3-4 seconds on both the positive portion and negative portion of the exercise.  It is also recommended to squeeze for one second in the contracted position.
